Our Story

From a Gap in the Industry to a Movement of Protection

Kindershield was founded to fill a critical gap in the insurance world. For too long, preschools and kindergartens were underserved by standard insurance products that overlooked the day-to-day realities of running an education centre. Accidents, legal risks, and financial uncertainties were a constant concern—with no clear solution.

Kindershield changed that by creating Malaysia’s first education-specific protection plan, offering practical and reliable Education Insurance Plans, Teacher Insurance, Shariah-Compliant Insurance, and Takaful Insurance solutions that are meaningful, school-managed, and designed for the unique needs of the education sector.

Winnie Tan brings over 25 years of expertise in general insurance, having served a wide range of SMEs and community sectors since 1998. As the founder of My ELink, she is best known for pioneering Kindershield, a purpose-driven protection solution developed to meet the unique needs of educators, childcare operators, and parents through comprehensive Education Insurance Plans, Teacher Insurance, Shariah-Compliant Insurance, and Takaful Insurance solutions.

Her work is guided by a deep commitment to safeguarding those who care for the most vulnerable — our children.
